I need someone from Singapore who has experience in processing papers for foreign employment. Should have experience in submitting application to MOM and getting them approve for working pass. I would highly prefer if the company you had worked was related to IT.
My Story:
I'm a Web Designer/Developer from Philippines with more than 5.5 years working experience. I'm a graduate of "System Design and Programming" at "AMA Computer Learning Center" — A (2yr) Associate Degree offered in Philippines. My company applied me a lot of times for E-Pass & S-Pass and Unfortunately, both had been rejected. They've also submitted an appeal but got rejected again. MOM did not state the reason why it got rejected.
Please answer the questions below to the best of your knowledge:
1. In your own opinion what may be the reason I got rejected?
– Few reason that I see is because I am only a 2 year course graduate and not that qualified based on the standards of MOM. I've conducted some research and found out some had been fortunate to get a pass even when they only have 2 year course or the same course as mine.
– Another reason I see is quota. But may not be too related because my company employed both local and international (Filipino too) and they didn't have any problem except me. And lately, a Filipino that has a related field to mine got approve as an S-Pass.
2. What solution would you suggest?
– I'm entertaining the idea of finding a new company who would apply for me a new application. I have a feeling that my company is doing it all wrong or doesn't have hight reputation.
– Another route that i'm thinking is just get some short courses that spans at least 6 months to 1 year to push my qualification. I'm just not sure if these would effective approach. What do you think?
3. In your knowledge how does MOM decides? what are the factors it is being approve or rejected.
– Factors I think are:
Qualification – the employee should be qualified and related to the position he/she is applying.
Salary – Salary needs to be faithful to the standard rate offered to a certain position and shouldn't be lower or too high.
Quota – Needs to maintain good balance of foreign and local employee
Thank You.
