We've installed Webp Express (https://github.com/rosell-dk/webp-express) on Bedrock (https://roots.io/bedrock/). Jpeg and png images are not rendered as webp images.
We're assuming this is a filepath issue since we're using a nonstandard installation. For some reason, our custom filepath gets inserted into the image urls that end in .webp and no webp images are actually created.
Customization is probably needed in the lib/classes/Paths.php file to set an absolute path instead of relative path and possibly some .htaccess customization.
*Must run alongside W3TC which is configured to use Stackpath CDN.
Should take less than an hour if you're a mid to senior WordPress plugin developer. We'll need to test this directly on the production server since staging doesn't have SSL with the CDN and W3TC configured. There's no traffic on our website since we haven't started marketing yet.
If you don't have experience with this plugin, I recommend you download the plugin files and check the Paths.php file prior to working on this project and provide an estimate.
