Hi, I'm looking to set up a Representative Office (RO) in the Philippines. I'm interested to work with an experienced consultant who can help me see through this entire registration process.
At this point, we do not have the capacity to set up a domestic subsidiary. We're looking to support approximately 30 employees over the next 3 years under this RO & we're happy to convert it to a domestic subsidiary when the time is right.
According to a particular lawyer/accountant in Manila, it appears that there's no limit set by the SEC on the number of employees that I can hire under my RO. However, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has a restriction on the number of employees that we can hire.
We'll need to seek advice if we're able to proceed legally with a RO with an initial team size of 10 employees.
Thanks!
