An upcoming film review site is in need of 5 talented film reviewers to review films from around the world. The type of films which will be reviewed are largely art and cult films and sometimes obscure ones that only a handful of people are familiar with. However, there are also anime films and documentaries to be reviewed as well. If you dont know people like Miike, Herzog, Tomas Alfredson, or the late Satoshi Kon please don't apply as this job is surely not for you.
At the start, we will be buying the film reviews youve written at the price of $5 per review with at least 600 words each review. We understand that this is challenging but its not that hard for those who have passion for films. So as to make this job easier for you, you are given the leeway of discussing every bit of the film like music score, actors performances and even the plot of the film although we would require you not to put spoilers on your reviews especially if its one of the important points of the film.
If we really like your work, we would consider raising the price for which we buy your reviews at possibly $10 per review or maybe we would place you on an hourly rate depending on the quality of your work. Also, we will consider making you a permament reviewer/staff on the site.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
1. $5 per review you make at the start
2. You will be given a list of films where you can pick which one you will like to review
3. You are given up to 5 days for you to make the review after you have chosen a film from a list we provide you. After 5 days and you havent submitted anything we will assign the film to another reviewer.
4. At least 600 words per review, you will see the word count if youre using Microsoft Word in writing.
5. No spoilers on your reviews although you can discuss the plot of the film. If you dont know how to do this then please dont apply.
6. At the end of each review you make, you are required to give a rating for the film at the scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is the highest.
7. Also, you are required to provide an avatar (not necessarily your photo avatar) and a pen name of your choice. This will be placed under each of your review.
8. Lastly, although the review is under your name, it will become the sole property of the site once we purchase it from you.
9. If we really like your work, we will buy your reviews at a higher price, possibly at $10 each or maybe we could place you on an hourly rate if your work is really top-notch and you will be a permanent reviewer/staff on the site.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. You must have access for the films you are reviewing whether through DVD, theather, or through on-demand services like NetFlix or Mubi.
2. You must have a very good command of the English language.
3. All of your reviews must be 100% original and pass the Copyscape plagiarism checker. We will not buy the review if any part or all of it is plagiarized.
4. The review must be insightful and with integrity. We expect that you take it seriously.
We are looking for a long term relationship here so please apply only if you are serious for this type of work. We know what we're offering is not much but this could supplement your income. And if your pastime is watching films you can earn something out of it. You're given for up to 5 days in finishing a review. We know good writing takes time so we would not rush you in finishing a review.
HOW TO APPLY:
1. At the very top of your application, place the word "review"
2. List the 3 best films you like of all time (only three). It doesnt matter if its anime, documentary or a feature film. We will largely base our selection of the right contractors from this.
3. Attach one sample writing with your application. Not necessarily a film review but if you have one that would be better. We would want to judge your writing skills from this.
