SEO Writer – oDesk

A marketing firm looking for a full-time SEO writer.

To be clear, this is a full-time position. We are not looking for someone who only wants part-time work. We need someone who is fast, self-motivated and can commit to this job FULLY. The problem we have been running into a lot in the past couple of weeks is that most of the contractors that we have hired have failed to deliver the agreed 40 hours per week, so we had to let them go. They were unable to deliver their 40 hours due to the fact that most of them had other jobs going on. Taking on multiple jobs is great, and we understand how that is necessary for some people to make ends meet; unfortunately, we are looking for someone permanent, someone who can fill a full-time position, and someone who can be fully-committed to us. Do understand that we are running a business here.

Candidate qualifications:
1. Must have scored high in the Basic English or English Vocabulary Tests (U.S. versions).
2. Must not be grammatically-challenged.
3. Must be able to write in very good, natural-sounding American English.
4. Must have a basic understanding of SEO and WordPress.
5. Must be able to produce a minimum of 5 sets of 500-word articles per day.
6. MUST be able to deliver 40 hours of work per week – no excuses.

What the job entails:
1. You will be writing "sets" of articles. A set includes 1 original 500-word article, which you will then rewrite. 1 original + rewrite = 1 set. Eventually, we will need 5 sets from you daily. During your training period, it's fine if you're a little slower (just do your best).
2. Because this is SEO work, you're going to be using keywords in your articles. We will provide you the keywords sheet, you'll pick your keywords from that, and you'll write your articles around the keywords you've picked. We will give you in-depth instructions for this upon hiring.
3. Writing is a big part of what you will be doing for us, but eventually we will be training you to perform other SEO tasks. These tasks will already be spelled-out and don't require a lot of thinking.

The company is U.S. based, but we prefer applicants from the Philippines, mainly because most of our team is there. During your training period, we prefer that you work around 10pm to 6am Philippine-time (9am to 5pm U.S. Pacific Time), so that we can look over your work and give you corrections as needed.

In your application, please prove to us why you're the person we're looking for; don't just give us one-liners. This is a writing job so, needless to say, we will be using your application to judge your understanding of the English language. Also, please provide recent writing samples so we have something to evaluate you with further.

Thank you.

P.S. You will need to start your reply with the word "yup", so that I know that you read the entire post. If you send me an application template of any kind, you will not be considered.
