We are looking for someone who can help us develop an algorithm to detect rock edges, extract and get measurements out of point cloud data. The algorithm will be like the following steps.
1. Load the point cloud file (can be .pcd, .las, .xyz, .pts) etc. in a 3d viewer.
2. Detect rock edges. Show the detected rock edges in the 3d viewer.
3. Create best-fit feature lines out of the detected rock edges.
4. Extract the feature line (to shapefile .shp).
5. Apply measurements to the extracted entities.
There are existing algorithms that are built similar to what we are trying to achieve (most of them written in C++) , you may want to have a look at the existing algorithms, links provided below.
We want the final output in a windows form or in wpf application but can start in a console/command based apps.
