Professional Experience
Stoneman Corporation K.K. Tokyo (www.stonemancorp.com) established in June 1999 Director and
Founder. IT focused consulting firm primarily servicing multinational organizations operating in Japan.
Primary activities in consulting and coaching Japanese executives and professionals in the areas of
leadership, strategy development and execution. Effective cross-cultural communication, presentation
preparation and delivery.
Specific skills include proof reading focusing on grammar, structure, usage and editing when necessary.
The original material is written by Japanese business people at all levels and students. The material
includes letters, E Mail, resumes, presentations, formal documents and university entrance content.
For 5 years I consulted with and coached a Japanese M.D. medical researcher. I helped him to prepare
for multiple presentations, delivered in English, in countries including China, US, France, England. We
developed and revised several drafts for each presentation. One of my key tasks was proofreading. In
addition, I proofread and edited scientific articles for submission to top tier journals such as The
Lancet.

Platinum technology: Joined Platinum, a leading global enterprise software firm, in August 1998,
assigned to the Tokyo office specifically to establish a Multinational Business Unit.
As Multinational Business Manager, formed a team of 10 sales, consulting, administration staff.
Developed a cross-vertical client base including over 50 Global Accounts.
Established an excellent head office relationship via multiple business trips.
Significantly increased sales activity and results.
Access Technology: Joined the Tokyo office start up executive search firm in October 1994
as a Senior Consultant, responsible for client development, focusing on leading North American
information technology firms.
Extensive interaction with Japanese business people in English including coaching, consulting,
presentation and interview preparation.
Individual Sales Performance: Surpassed quota in 1995 (125%) and 1996 (>200%), Doubled year-overyear
results from 1995-96.
Upon promotion to Consulting Services Section Manager in January 1997, took over sales and
operations with a staff of 7 consultants and 2 administrators.
As a result of excellent overall performance, promoted to
Vice President in late 1997 with a staff of 2: 2 section managers, 8 consultants and 2 administrators.
SIMUL International, Inc.: Joined Japan’s premier corporate training firm in October 1991 as a
Consultant in the Corporate Training Division. Responsible for preparing Japanese corporate

executives, and government officials, for negotiations with US counterparts and extended foreign
assignments.
A typical class consisted of preparing a team of mid-level Ministry of International Trade & Industry
(MITI/METI) officials for a sensitive technology transfer negotiation with the United States
Government.
I worked extensively with a TBS correspondent who had been assigned to Washington DC. We worked
on listening and developing rapid fire questioning utilizing actual TV and taped news.
Major clients included Ministry of Posts & Telecommunications, MITI/METI, Nihon Keizai Shinbun,
Malaysian Ministry of Energy, Telecommunications and Posts, TBS, Ford and Pepsi.
Linguarama Language Institute: Joined this British-based firm’s Tokyo operation upon entering
Japan in 1988. Promoted to Head Teacher in April, 1989, with a headcount of 25, in charge of
operations.
Responsible for proposals and contracts.
Team selling with Japanese sales staff.
Curriculum development and scheduling.
Client needs analysis.
Teaching individuals and small groups.
Involved in teacher hiring, training, lesson observation providing direct teacher feedback and
evaluation reports to senior management. In addition I received management training.

a dual emphasis on science and business
