I work in the front line for the prevention, mitigation, and recovering fraud losses in credit cards. This includes handling customer calls, customer found fraud calls, point of sale referrals, suspicious callers, and merchant calls. Since credit card fraud and identity theft are a sensitive issue, I am also responsible in promoting positive customer service experience through effective authorization strategies. This would involve carefully verifying the customer identity via phone and applying the proper clearance to allow suspicious transaction against the credit card. I also handle initial point of contact for card members calling about fraud issues concerning their accounts. On top of verifying the customer's identity, this entails reviewing the credit card activity, classifying the type of fraud (lost/stolen, counterfeit, mail/phone/internet order, familial fraud, account takeover, fraudulent application), closure and replacement of account & card/s, and filing of fraud claim.
The job requires keen attention to details/analytical skills (observing the spending pattern and risk assessment of credit card and account activity), great communication skills (solicit the cooperation of account holders in the review of their account activitie and in some cases, closure and replacement of account/card), and knowledgeable with MS applications (word, excel, ppt) in presenting the reports.
